About The Three Shires MFC

The Three Shires model flying club attained its name from the three counties which surround it, namely Worcestershire, Warwickshire and Staffordshire, the club has been in existence since 78/79. The club is looked after by volunteers who form a committee of seven members, each with specified duties e.g. Treasurer, Secretary, Safety Officers, Noise Officers, and a P.R. Officer and Web Administrator ( hence this web site). The club is affiliated to the British Model Flying Association (B.M.F.A.) and abide by its recommendations on safety etc. Links to the B.M.F.A. and other interesting web sites can be found in our links page.

The object of the club is to fly radio controlled models and can offer advice on design, building, engines (glow / diesel / petrol), electric motors, batteries ( Nicd, Nimh, Lipo ), powered aircraft / gliders. New members can be assisted by qualified instructors to fly their own aircraft.

The club has 3 flying sites in the surrounding area where members can fly. The newest site, (Claverley) has provision for flying helicopters (if you want to ...) but the club cannot offer any training as we do not have any qualified instructors at this time. Hopefully this will change later on as more people take up this new challenge.

The club has a very good social life and meet every Thursday at the club house (DK), where any topic can be brought up for advice.

I hope you will find this site interesting and informative. If we can be of any more help then please do get in contact with us.
